Payroll Direct Deposit

Payroll direct deposit is the most convenient way to deposit your pay or pension to your EKC account. It's simple, safe and automatic.

Ask your employer (or former employer if you are receiving a pension) if direct deposit is available to you, and, if so, what information is required to set up direct deposit into your EKC account(s).

Your company payroll department will need EKC cheque with "VOID" written on it. If you don’t have an EKC chequing account: you can set up payroll direct deposit by providing your payroll department with the follow information:

  • Financial institution: East Kootenay Community Credit Union
  • Account holder: Your full name as it appears on account statements.
  • Account number: The full account number for the EKC account where your payroll will be transferred.
  • Branch transit number: Cranbrook - Transit Number 22310, Elkford – 22320, Fernie – 22330 and Sparwood - 22340

Why Direct Deposit?

  • Peace of Mind: No worries about mail delays or having cheques lost or stolen.
  • Prompt Payment: Deposits are credited on payday.
  • Convenience: No special trips to pick up and deposit cheques, and no holds on your funds.
  • Freedom: Payments are automatically deposited to your account, even if you are traveling, on vacation or ill.
