This position is outside of the bargaining unit

This full-time role provides administrative support in the delivery of recruitment and selection processes including preparing job postings, summarizing applicant qualifications and coordinating interview arrangements.  You will also document employee learning plans in consultation with branch and department supervisors, update tracking tools and organizes compliance training activities. In addition, this role:

  • Conducts ongoing audits of performance management documents
  • Analyzes trends and reports results to the VP.
  • Attends Health and Safety Committee meetings to monitor compliance.
  • Administers employee engagement surveys through an external technology platform.
Provides administrative support in a variety of generalist areas including tracking progress of high potential employees against identified career paths and maintaining content of the organization’s onboarding program.

Qualifications Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma plus successful completion of a one-year certificate program in Human Resource Management from a college or technical institution
  • 2 year college or technical school program supplemented by courses related to the design and delivery of training programs, performance or sales coaching, performance management and labour relations
  • Two years of related experience in administering human resource programs within a unionized environment


  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Successful candidates must also demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of current human resources principles, practices and legislation as they relate to recruitment, learning and development, onboarding, health and safety, performance management, succession planning and labour/employee relations
  • Demonstrated PC literacy skills and working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information
  • Ability to plan, schedule, organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to adapt to a changing culture, and to deal effectively with time constraints and deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of employees and managers, engender trust and maintain professionalism
